QC Insights

To secure uniformity, ensure that each vial is similarly treated with respect to preparation for use. Always mix contents before use.

1. Gently tap the vial to ensure the control material is at the bottom of the vial.

2. Remove the screw cap.

3. Lift the rubber stopper without removing it totally. This allows air to enter the vial.

4. Carefully remove the rubber stopper.

5. Add exactly the volume of sterile deionized water, as stated on the vial label.

6. Replace the stopper in the vial and ensure the vial contents are completely dissolved by gentle continuous rolling for approximately 30 minutes. Avoid the formation of foam. DO NOT SHAKE.

7. Remove the amount of material required for testing and analyse immediately.

8. Prior to subsequent use, remove the vial from 2-8 °C and mix gently before sampling. Replace the stopper immediately and store the vial at 2-8 °C.

9. Any material removed from the vial but not used should be discarded. DO NOT RETURN control material to the original vial once removed.

10. Establish target values and analytical ranges for the control material based on the measurement procedures in the lab.
